VAE Copolymers
(Vinyl Acetate-Ethylene Copolymers)
Introduction
FOAMING - Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers possess many excellent characteristics, including flexibility, elasticity, transparency, non-toxicity, high resistance toward environmental stress cracking, low-temperature flexibility, easy processing, etc. Due to these characteristics, it can be used to develop new applications and replace flexible PVC, rubbers, and other elastomers. One of the applications is the incorporation of foaming agents, crosslinking agents, and inorganic fillers with ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers for the injection and compression molding of foamed mid-sole material for shoes. It can be extruded to sheet such as in casting, and co-extrusion for special packaging of hospital and medical materials, food packaging, and other packaging.
HOT MELT - Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) has high liquidity and moderate VA content, as well as numerous outstanding properties, such as both flexibility and elasticity, superb thermal stability, excellent low-temperature resistance, high compatibility, resistance to blocking, and non-toxicity. Possessing excellent heat stability and flexibility, and exceptional compatibility with tackifier resins and petroleum wax, it is one of the most popular EVA for making hot melt adhesive. The hot melt adhesive made with EVA copolymers adheres well to other materials, is easy to coat, and does not contain solvents, which fulfills environmental protection requirements. Therefore, it is suitable for packaging, wood-work, and other product assemblies.
Application
Used for wires & cables, hot melt adhesive, shoe sole foam, powder hot melt (for hot melt adhesion of non-woven fabrics), injection foam, sheet extrusion, blow molding, compression molding (foam), film extrusion (with additives), injection molding, general compounding, and wire & cable compounds.
